A mosque that raises children well.
Breakfast, after-school, and weekend care, shaped by a doctor whose world has always been centred within mosques.
Now making the mosque a home for the whole of childhood, where minds open, hearts settle, and roots grow deep.
Every child welcome. Every strength seen. Built for neurodivergent learners as seriously as for any other.
A programme designed by a doctor, for your child's whole development.
Grand Oak is led by Dr Mohsan Rabbani, a practising NHS GP with a special interest in childhood education and development. Every session, every meal, every activity is shaped by what the evidence says helps children thrive: warm relationships, secure routines, real food, real conversation, and time to play.
Mind.
Daily homework support and small-group tuition with qualified teachers. Designed to close gaps and build confidence.
Manners.
Good character every day. Honesty, patience, kindness, and respect, modelled and practised.
Meaning.
A calm, structured place where children feel safe, valued, and proud of who they are.

What £15 an hour actually buys.
Smaller groups.
A 1:6 ratio with a named tutor who knows your child's gaps, strengths, and habits. Not a room with one adult and twenty children.
A hot meal, not a snack box.
Freshly cooked from the mosque kitchen and eaten at the table together. Most after-school clubs charge extra for less.
Homework finished by qualified teachers.
Not supervised. Taught. Children leave with their work done and their questions answered.
Extended hours, deeper enrichment.
Earlier breakfast, longer afternoons, longer Saturdays. More time means more learning, more rest, more rhythm.
A mosque environment, deliberately used.
Calm spaces. Manners modelled, not lectured. Optional Islamic enrichment for families who want it.
Every Plus place keeps a Standard place open.
A working family on a tighter budget keeps their seat at the table because your family chose Plus. Sadaqah jariyah, woven into the week.
What families tell us.
"Both kids are settled, fed, and finish their homework before I'm home. Worth every penny, and we get most of it back on UC."
"The Homework Hour has changed our evenings. No more 8pm meltdowns over spellings."
"I work shifts, so the breakfast and after-school combo is a lifesaver. The team is warm and reliable."
Questions parents ask first.
How does the 85% UC refund actually work?+
You pay us, then claim the cost back through your Universal Credit journal. UC reimburses up to 85% of what you paid for childcare each month, capped at the standard government limits.
Do I need to pay you upfront?+
Yes. The UC childcare element is paid in arrears, so you pay us first and then claim back through UC. We can talk you through how to budget for the first month.
Do my working hours need to match the club hours exactly?+
No. UC just needs you to be in paid work, looking for work, or covered by an approved exception. The hours don't have to mirror the club.
What if my partner is not working?+
You can usually still claim if your partner has a recognised exception, for example LCW/LCWRA, Carer's Allowance, or being temporarily away from home. Our quiz checks this for you.
Which schools do you pick up from?+
We pick up from several local primaries within a short walk of the Petre Street entrance. We'll confirm your child's school during onboarding.
What happens in school holidays?+
Our Holiday Club runs full days, 8:30 to 18:00 (or 18:30 in Plus), with themed enrichment, sports, hot meals, and trips.
How do I cancel a session?+
Give us 7 days' notice and we'll move or refund the session. We don't tie families into long contracts.
My child has SEND. Can you accommodate?+
Often yes. We'll have a friendly chat to understand your child's needs and agree any reasonable adjustments before they start.
Is the programme only for Muslim families?+
No. Grand Oak is open to children of all backgrounds. We are based at the Grand Mosque and food is halal as standard. The optional faith literacy strand is available for families who want it. Children whose families do not are equally welcome.
